FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

1. WHAT IS IOT?

IoT is short for Internet of Things. The Internet of Things refers to the ever-growing network of physical objects that feature an IP address for internet connectivity, and the communication that occurs between these objects and other Internet-enabled devices and systems.

2. HOW DOES IOT (Internet of Things) WORK?

Devices and objects with built in sensors are connected to an Internet of Things platform, which integrates data from the different devices and applies analytics to share the most valuable information with applications built to address specific needs. These powerful IoT platforms can pinpoint exactly what information is useful and what can safely be ignored. This information can be used to detect patterns, make recommendations, and detect possible problems before they occur.

3. WHAT ISSUES MAY OCCUR THAT COULD AFFECT IOT USAGE?

First you must understand that an IoT solution consist of many components. These categories consist: sensors, communication protocols/network technologies, platform(s), and notification(s). The combination of these operational technology work as a system that presents actionable data usage. Any of these categories could affect its IoT usage.

4. WHY IS INDUSTRIAL IOT (Internet of Things) IMPORTANT?

The Industrial IoT focuses strongly on intelligent cyber-physical systems. These systems are comprised of equipment connected to computers that interpret, analyze and make decisions almost instantly, based on sensor data from many widely distributed sources. The Industrial IoT enables the monitoring of systems in hospitals to track everything from air pressure to water temperature. The world is building more and more intelligent equipment that interacts with the environment, data centers and humans. Connected together, this is the Internet of Things.

5. IS THERE WARRANTY ON YOUR SOFTWARE/HARDWARE?

During our term of agreement, our team provides a valuable extension to our existing IoT capability. We are fully responsible for installation, troubleshooting, website tailored design, manufacturing and product distribution. Our contracts can be structured both as Capex Purchases or Opex lease based agreements. With Opex Lease agreements all warranties are honored for the full term of the agreement.

6. HOW ARE DEVICES TRACKED AND MONITORED?

The local protocol support allows the BOS Dashboard to communicate with sensors and capture sensor diagnostics along with data. This enables users to not only monitor their data but also remotely diagnose the health of their sensors.

7. HOW DO THE DEVICES COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER?

A fundamental goal for our system is to be Protocol Agnostic which is why our infrastructure and sensors integrate with nearly all standard Protocols.

8. HOW ARE DEVICES NAMED AND ORGANIZED?

We have an organizational structure that was built from our system layout. The structure of our system is broken down by the group, site, area, and the station each device is located. These devices read real time data that provides a general location of the installed device.

9. WILL IT IMPACT SUSTAINABILITY?

We have proven that the Internet of Things technologies can be used to sustain people's access to quality data with a affordable software solution , to ease report logging, to improve equipment maintenance, and to overall optimize facilities.

10. WHAT HAPPENS TO BIG DATA ?

Cellular networks have become both the generators and carriers of massive data. Big data can help improve the performance of mobile cellular networks and maximize the revenue of operators. Operators can monitor their infrastructure in real-time, and make autonomous and dynamic decisions.

11. ARE THE DEVICES INTEROPERABLE?

They have the ability to safely, securely, and effectively exchange and use information among one or more devices, products, technologies, or systems.

12. WILL YOU BE WORKING OFF OF A SEPARATE NETWORK?

Yes, BOS Technology is able to overcome typical obstacles with no interference and fulfill cellular solutions in areas where there is typically weak or unusable cellular signal.

13. ARE THE GENERATED REPORTS CUSTOMIZABLE?

Yes, BOS Technology creates efficient custom reports from scratch, incorporating its customer's request and including metrics that are most important. These reports will ultimately give you the ability to review your data in real time.

14. WOULD YOU CONSIDER YOUR SYSTEM MORE OF A DASHBOARD OR A REPORT LOGGER?

BOS Technology has built a dashboard that visually displays the current status of metrics that pulls real-time data from multiple sensor devices. This data typically requires some degree of logging, monitoring, and/or reporting. Our system lets you automate your reporting process as well as provide managerial mechanisms to increase efficiency.

15. WHAT TYPE OF ACCESS SYSTEM DO YOU PROVIDE? (Mobile app, remote access…etc)

A business web application that shows analysis of important data. The page shows mass data, trends, summaries of the data, and various charts and diagrams.

16. IS THERE A SECTION THAT SHOWS DEVICE HISTORY? (URL SPECIFIC..LOCATION…ETC)

Yes, a complete device log history is available for up to 2 years with an option for extension.

17. CAN YOUR SENSORS ENDURE VERY COLD OR VERY WARM CONDITIONS?

We have different kind of sensor for variuous environments.
